Evoluent Vertical 4 Mouse Review

Affordability, quality design and pain relief is what the Evoluent Vertical 4 Mouse offers to all users. With major improvements over its predecessor, the EVM4 is definitely one of the best mice in this price range. Let's take a look at this vertical computer mouse.

Comfort and Design

Comfort and design is what this mouse offers. Meant for only right-handed users, this model is USB wired and ready to please from the first click.

(Update: There is now a wireless version of this mouse available, as well as a wired left-handed version.)

The manufacturer provides an adjustable optical sensor which can be changed to ensure your mouse is fast and accurate at all times. An improved thumb rest is seen, which increases overall comfort as well as the user's grip.

A total weight of under a ½-pound is seen which means users will suffer from less friction when trying to move the mouse. A complete size of 5.4 x 3.6 x 3.6 inches is seen. This should be small enough to fit in any user's hands comfortably, but large enough to be able to grip with ease and maneuver with precision.

A sticky material is present on the mouse which allows users to loosen their grip and still have complete control over the mouse in the process.

Button Arrangements

Productivity and comfort are further added with the button arrangements seen. There are:

  • 3 finger buttons that control your regular mouse functions
  • 2 thumb buttons
  • 1 mouse wheel / button

These buttons are programmable to allow users to pick and choose what the extra buttons are able to do. This is all done through the included software and allows for basic computer functionality to be just a touch away.

Users are free to add:

  • Cut, copy and paste
  • Any normal key buttons
  • Start tab
  • Desktop hide and display

The possibilities are endless and will allow you to customize your mouse so that you have much further control of your computer. Whether you are a writer or a gamer, this will increase your productivity greatly.

Users of a regular standard mouse will find that it takes a few days to fully get accustomed to the way that a vertical computer mouse feels and works. However, you will also notice an immense reduction in wrist, hand and even elbow pain.
